Ingredients 

BBQ Sauce (you can also use low-sugar, clean, store-bought sauce) 

  • 8 oz tomato paste
  • 3 Tbs apple cider vinegar
  • 2 Tbs honey
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper
  • 2 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tsp dry mustard
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 Tbs soy sauce or coconut aminos

 Ribs

  • 3-4 lbs baby back ribs

Instructions 

  1. If making your own BBQ sauce, mix all ingredients together in a small bowl.
  2. Cut the ribs into 3 or 4 segments.
  3. Place them in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  4. Pour 1 cup BBQ sauce over the ribs.
  5. Cook on low for 6 hours.

 

Tip: You can enjoy the ribs as-is, but they are significantly improved by placing them in an oven safe dish and brushing with an additional 1/4 to 1/2 cup of barbecue sauce. Broil for 3-5 minutes or until BBQ sauce caramelizes.
